General Residential Operation

Structured Therapeutic Environment

24-hour supportive care for youth requiring intensive intervention

The General Residential Operation (GRO) at Adolbi Care Behavioral Health Center provides our highest level of care in a structured, therapeutic environment. Our GRO serves youth who require more intensive support than can be provided in outpatient or home-based settings, offering 24-hour supervision and comprehensive therapeutic services.

Our program is designed to create a safe, nurturing environment where young people can stabilize, develop essential coping skills, and work through significant emotional and behavioral challenges. We will utilize a trauma-informed approach that emphasizes building trust, promoting emotional regulation, and developing healthy relationships.

The GRO will be staffed by a multidisciplinary team of professionals dedicated to supporting each resident's unique journey toward healing and growth. Our structured daily routine, therapeutic programming, and supportive milieu will create an environment where positive change can occur.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our General Residential Operation

How often will I be able to communicate with my child?

Regular communication is an important part of the treatment process. Typically, residents can receive phone calls from approved family members several times per week, according to the program schedule. Family therapy sessions are scheduled regularly, and in-person visits are arranged based on treatment progress and clinical recommendations.

What items should my child bring to the GRO?

We provide a detailed packing list during the admission process. Generally, residents should bring a 7-10 day supply of comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, personal hygiene items, and a few personal items such as photos. Electronic devices are typically not permitted in the program. All medications must be turned in to staff upon admission.

How is education handled during residential treatment?

Education is a priority in our GRO. We offer on-site educational programming with certified teachers who coordinate with residents' home schools to ensure academic progress. Individualized educational plans are developed for each resident, and academic support is provided as needed. Our goal is to minimize disruption to educational progress during treatment.

What happens after my child completes the GRO program?

Discharge planning begins at admission and becomes more detailed as your child progresses through the program. Depending on individual needs, your child may transition to our Transitional Living Program, return home with outpatient support, or move to another appropriate level of care. Our case managers work closely with families to ensure a smooth transition with appropriate follow-up services in place.

Does insurance cover residential treatment?

Many insurance plans provide some coverage for residential treatment, though benefits vary widely. Our financial counselors will work with you to verify your insurance benefits and explain coverage details before admission. We also offer various payment options and can provide information about potential financial assistance resources.
